Why It Matters

The cost of scattered know-how adds up

When knowledge lives only in people's heads, it leaves with them. What Marrowdale does is make sure it doesn't have to.

Smoother onboarding

New staff find what they need without having to chase a colleague each time. Written, organised knowledge shortens the gap between joining and contributing.

Less repeated work

When processes and decisions are documented once, teams stop re-solving problems that were figured out two years ago by someone who has since moved on.

Reduced turnover risk

Staff departures are less disruptive when the organisation's knowledge isn't locked inside individual memory. Good documentation is a form of resilience.

A consistent standard

When everyone works from the same documented approach, the quality of output becomes less dependent on who is in the office that day.

Time back for senior staff

Senior people spend less time answering the same questions when good knowledge resources exist. That time returns to more valuable work.

A foundation for growth

Organisations that scale well tend to have their knowledge in order. A clear, findable repository of how things work makes adding people or services much more manageable.

Take the First Step

Is your team's knowledge safe?

A short conversation is usually enough to see where knowledge gaps are forming. Marrowdale is glad to have that conversation without any obligation attached.

Common Questions

Things people usually ask us

What exactly is knowledge management advisory?
It is a structured advisory service that looks at how an organisation captures, stores, and shares what it knows — and helps it do that more intentionally. We are not software vendors; we help you think through the practices, structures, and habits that make knowledge findable and durable.
How do I know which service is right for my team?
The Knowledge Snapshot is often the right starting point if you are unsure — it gives you a clear picture of where things stand and what would help most. If you already have a sense of the problem and want to move into organising, the Advisory or the Programme may fit better. We are happy to talk this through before you commit to anything.
Do we need to buy new software or tools?
Not necessarily. Most teams already have tools — shared drives, wikis, notes apps, project boards — that can do the job if set up and used well. Our approach works with what you have rather than pushing new platforms. If a specific tool would help, we will say so, but there is no product recommendation with a commission behind it.
How are sessions conducted?
Sessions are conducted online by video call or in person at your Kuala Lumpur office, depending on what works better for your team. We schedule them at intervals that allow your team time to apply what was discussed between meetings.
How long does an engagement typically take?
The Knowledge Snapshot is a single session. The Organising Advisory runs over roughly four to six weeks. The Knowledge Practice Programme, with eleven sessions and review cycles, typically spans three to four months. The pace is set to suit your team's capacity — not to rush through deliverables.
What size of team is this suited for?
We have worked with small teams of five and with departments of forty. The challenges tend to be similar — knowledge spread across people's heads and inboxes, inconsistent practices, difficulty onboarding. The engagement is scoped to suit the actual team rather than a template headcount.
Is my team's information kept private?
Yes. Everything discussed during an engagement is treated as confidential. We do not share client information with third parties, and our advisory work is covered by a straightforward confidentiality agreement on request.
