What clients have shared
"We brought in Marrowdale after losing two senior people in a short span, both of whom took a lot of institutional knowledge with them. The Knowledge Snapshot helped us see clearly what was at risk and where to start. The written summary was practical — not a list of things we would need a consultant to implement for us."

Operations Manager, Bangsar South

"The Organising Advisory was the right choice for where our team was. We had tried to set up a knowledge base on our own before and it had slowly been abandoned. This time, having someone work through the structure with us made it stick. The templates are still in use four months on. One suggestion: allow a bit more time between sessions for teams that have a heavy workload."

Head of Projects, Petaling Jaya

"We went through the full Knowledge Practice Programme. It was a significant investment but a worthwhile one. What I valued most was that it built something our team owns — a set of habits and a working structure — rather than a system that requires Marrowdale to come back and maintain."
Sharifah Sofea
Director, KL City Centre

"I was a bit sceptical about whether advisory on knowledge management would produce anything concrete. The Snapshot changed that view quickly. The summary was specific and honest — it pointed to things we had not wanted to admit were a problem. We followed up with the Organising Advisory and are in a much better place now."
Raymond Lau
Team Lead, Mont Kiara
April 2025
"Our issue was that knowledge was spread across four different tools with no consistent approach. The advisory sessions helped us rationalise what we needed, which turned out to be simpler than we had assumed. Sessions were well-prepared and didn't feel like they were stretching the engagement to justify the fee."
Nurul Bahiyah
HR Manager, Subang Jaya

"We are a team of twelve and had never formally thought about knowledge management. The Organising Advisory gave us a structure we could actually maintain. The adviser was direct about what wouldn't work for a small team, which saved us from spending effort in the wrong places. The playbook we received at the end has become a reference we still use."

Case Studies
Three engagements in more detail
Case Study 01 · Knowledge Snapshot
A recruitment consultancy after a wave of departures
The Challenge
Three senior consultants had left over a five-month period. With them went their understanding of specific client relationships, placement processes, and the informal workarounds the team had built up over years. New staff were taking longer than expected to get productive.
The Engagement
A Knowledge Snapshot session with the remaining team lead and two senior consultants. Marrowdale mapped which knowledge was documented, which existed informally, and which had been lost. The written findings identified three high-priority areas and suggested practical actions for each.
What Changed
Within six weeks, the team had documented their core placement process and created a simple client context sheet for each key account. Onboarding for the next new hire took roughly 30% less time than the previous cycle, by the team's own estimate.
"The summary was honest about what we had let slip. That was useful — it gave us something to act on rather than something to feel good about." — Team Lead
Case Study 02 · Organising Advisory
A growing professional services firm in KL
The Challenge
The firm had grown from eight to twenty-six people in two years. Knowledge that had been easy to share informally at smaller size was now inconsistently held. Different teams were using different approaches for the same type of work, and quality was becoming variable as a result.
The Engagement
The Organising Advisory ran over five weeks. Sessions focused on identifying the most critical knowledge domains, designing a simple shared structure in the tools they already used, and creating templates for the three most common work types. Between sessions, the team populated the new structure with existing documents.
What Changed
By the closing session, roughly 70 documents had been reorganised into the new structure. The firm reported that new project kick-offs became more consistent because the relevant reference material was findable. Three templates from the engagement are now standard across all teams.
"It was the first time we had sat down properly and thought about what we actually know as an organisation. The templates were immediately useful." — Managing Director
Case Study 03 · Knowledge Practice Programme
An established logistics department of a listed company
The Challenge
The department had been operating for fifteen years with strong informal knowledge but almost no written documentation. A planned restructuring would move several long-serving staff into new roles. Leadership wanted to capture critical operational knowledge before the transition, and build practices that would hold after it.
The Engagement
The Practice Programme ran over fourteen weeks. It covered knowledge standards, structured documentation of five critical processes, internal coordinator coaching for one senior staff member, and playbooks for three operational areas. Two mid-programme reviews adjusted focus as the restructuring timeline shifted.
What Changed
The restructuring proceeded with less disruption than leadership had expected. The internal coordinator continued maintaining the knowledge repository after the engagement closed. Six months on, the five critical processes are documented and in regular use by staff who joined after the transition.
"I would describe it as building a platform we didn't know we needed until we had it. The timing was right because we were forced to think about it by the restructuring." — Department Head
